The objective of this piece is to reimagine an existing poster in animated form. I chose Neville Brody's design for the 1988 "Just Bounce It" Nike campaign, emphasizing the high contrast of scale and direction of his type treatment.
I was inspired by the simple yet intricate styles of Neville Brody, Michael Bierut and Jonathan Barnbrook. The three have coordinating styles from type treatment, grid system, and colour scheme which are all prominent in their designs. My focus was to emphasis the contrast in size evident in Neville's work, playing with shifting the the point size of each character to make a bouncy yet playful aesthetic. I chose to update the poster by using images of current sneakers and public figures that have made an impact in today's age. Paying homage to Colin Kaepernick for his notable presence with his courageous protest amidst his deal with Nike struck conversation and controversy back in 2018.
