Based on a book under the same name, designed by FUNDAMENTAL STUDIO, "Missing Person" is a promotional video created in the hope of exploring how static typography in print media could be developed and transformed with the addition of movement.
To the ones who disappeared, they are stuck forever in time and space. What lies ahead is either being forgotten by the world or an endless wait. The story focuses on a missing person. The motion piece explores the uses of gradient and opacity to emphasize the elusive and suspensefulness of the story.
Based on the cover, I hoped to bring elements of traditional Chinese paintings into the project. Working with compositions and movements, primarily, to explore how minimalistic motion graphics and typography can demonstrate the concept of the book.
The audio is a modified version of the track created by Jordan Gagne & Jeff Russo. I chose the song to illustrate the desperation and time-sensitive nature of the pursuit of the missing people. The illusive vocals work in conjunction with elements of mist and dust to provide a sense of elusiveness for the project.
