Novus Magazine seeks to re-build the sense of hope and wonder of the golden age of science fiction by blurring the line between futurology and fiction. It celebrates new abstract ideas and developments in the fields of astronomy, medicine, computing, psychology, and philosophy.
I drew inspiration for the concept for this editorial piece from vintage 1920's-1950's era science fiction pulp magazines, which I always admired for their unique cover art and bright, vibrant colours. For the content, I included a number of articles relating to current points of interest in scientific fields, as well as a sci-fi short story at the very end. The imagery was illustrated by myself, with a halftone effect applied throughout the whole magazine to tie it all together and add to the nostalgic feel of the work.
