"RIP Stress" is an interactive book with the purpose to help young adults relieve stress, even for a moment, as it is something that can cause people to be unproductive. To tackle this problem, the book includes different tasks including daily challenges, reminders that people forget to do under stress, and a variety of relaxing and interactive activities. It is something that can be done everyday as a routine, to start your day with, or in moments when stress level rises.
Each spread contains a specific activity/task, along with an illustration, short fact and/or suggestions of how the task could be achieved. It includes fun challenges or sessions of doodling or writing, which all can help with stress relief. With doodling/writing sessions, the next page is left empty for the users to fill out on their own.
Colours are known to help shape people’s moods, as even just looking at certain colours can be relaxing. To help guide people into the right mindset, I chose a colour palette with softer shades, being ideal for stress relief and anxiety. Pink, purple, green, and blues were mainly incorporated, as these are known to be stress reducing colours.
Each time an activity/task is completed, you simply rip off the corner of the page, and it will be used for the last page of the book. There are outlines created, with the purpose for one coloured corner to be glued on right after finishing an activity. So that when the user completes the book, the whole page will be filled with the coloured corner pages. This gives the users the satisfaction of completing a task, and seeing all your “achievements” through the collective colours together in one spread.
