Acting as a directory of eateries in downtown Toronto, this book is based on a recommendation system. Found in cafés or waiting areas of restaurants, users can discover local eateries or leave their feedback for the next user.
The purpose of this project was to encourage locals and tourists alike to explore more local spots downtown by giving them a curated list of restaurants, cafés, and bakeries to eat at. A minimalist grid-structured approach was taken with the addition of several stylistic dingbats encouraging readers to write down their review. The interactive experience is designed to get readers exploring the pages of the book and eventually the local eateries of Toronto.
This book was designed to be printed in black and white with the use of fluorescent orange risograph ink. The cover was designed for black book cloth and the use of screen printing white and fluorescent orange ink. The print process has currently been on hold, due to COVID-19, but will resume at a later date!
