A visual novel horror game about a first year design student trying to gauge if design school is where they belong.This game utilizes elements from the uncanny valley to produce an impactful horror experience. It serves as an introduction to horror games for those faint of heart and a refreshing take for experienced players.
Each design element of my game was made in illustrator, then brought into Unity. This image is what a typical conversation would look like between the player and a character in the game. The player only has so many hours in the day to complete their tasks and prepare them for the next day. The clock represents time of day and stress level.
This is what the options look like for the player to choose from. It is the player's bedroom during the morning. The player can choose any option but as soon as it reaches 8 am they have to leave to catch the bus. Meaning, they can only choose options that take a total of two hours.
Here we have the player on their bus ride to class. The bus ride serves as a buffer between home and school for the player to cool down and wait for events to occur.
