Walk-away was born through a desire to be able to avoid having to see people as I walk from place to place. With that idea in mind, I wanted to see if there were ways an app based around avoiding people could actually help others. This brought me to pivoting this idea to assist people with anxiety.
To get a grasp on how different forms of anxiety affect different people, I conducted a literature review. This allowed me to empathize more with those who struggle with anxiety and understand the symptoms and suggested treatments they experience, and find my target demographic for my primary data collection. I decided to look at students who currently have feelings of anxiety in crowds. By seeking qualitative data in the form of personal experiences, I looked for patterns and extract data from these answers to guide me in my process to designing a solution to the problem. This lead me to develop this project concept from an idea into a prototype.
